I am pleased to announce that one hundred of the best case studies are now live on thirdyearabroad.com/graduates, categorised by type of placement, degree subject, career, year of graduation and university. Please do take a look and get in touch if you can think of further ways in which we can get more out of these results, as we are really keen to make the most of them. For example, reading through hundreds of these case studies inspired me to write a definitive list of 100 reasons to study abroad, which I hope will be very useful to students in future.
The report itself
Collecting the results
We received over 600 reports, and I gave the following presentation to the assembled group at the Launch event about how we conducted the survey, what we asked, and the results we collected:I am so, so pleased that we have been able to contribute to this report, as I think it presents a strong case to the government and to universities, clearly illustrating the value of the year abroad along with a list of action points.
It will not only play a part in helping to retain vital funding, but the vast range of exciting careers represented (BBC journalists, a Lawyer-Linguist in Luxembourg, an RAF pilot, a luxury yacht charter broker, a publisher, entrepreneurs, an officer currently on operations in Afghanistan, and even an interpreter for the Spanish-speaking Miss World 2011!) will help to inspire future students to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
