Spending time abroad is an introduction to a different culture and amazing new friends from all round the world, which is exactly what ThirdYearAbroad.com is all about. Fortunately enough for us, it is also the driving force of the
OCEANS Network! I was so happy to be invited to speak at their first Annual AGM and arrived in Brussels to meet 60-or-so students of 21 different nationalities who spent (or will spend) time on an EU exchange programme in North America or the Asia Pacific region.
After listening to talks by EU and exchange programme representatives I was let loose onto the stage and told them all about TYA – from where it all began to plans for the future. We got some great feedback about the site from foreign students’ point of view (yes, we know that Italians saying ‘Turd Year Abroad’ probably isn’t the best thing…) and are happy that it’s as useful for students abroad as it is for those in the UK. We’re really looking forward to more collaboration with the
OCEANS Network in the future, so watch this space!
