    City of Gales
Known as the ‘Windy City’, don’t be fooled into thinking the atmosphere in Wellington just shakes the top of a toupee. New Zealand’s epicentre for culture, music and food, you’ll soon see that Wellington’s also a bit of a-mover-and-a-shaker in the Art world. Pretty than its neighbour, with Victorian timber houses, the capital city sits neatly within a periphery of hillsides, only to unveil an incredibly photogenic harbour. Film is big news here, with the city being referred to by locals and foreigners alike as ‘Wellywood’ - you never know, you might catch a glimpse or two of some famous faces whilst you’re out here.

    The Garden City
Christchurch has gained itself the attractive nickname of the ‘Garden City’, a name which reflects the huge number of beautiful tree-lined parks and wide open spaces throughout the city, great for wiling away the mild summer days with a good book or a bunch of your new found Kiwi friends. Many argue it’s the most attractive city in New Zealand, with the beautiful river Avon running its way sleepily through the city and the pedestrianised area of Cathedral square in the city centre laden with trendy bars and cafés.

    The Hidden Jewel
Paihia, known by locals as the jewel of the Bay of Islands, sits nestled up in the highest tip of the North Island. Home to fine dining, turquoise waters, beautiful beaches and abundant wildlife, Paihia is a fantastic get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Auckland. The Bay itself is a 16km-wide inlet in the northeastern coast of the island. Paihia, the capital of the area, is popular with tourists and holidaying locals alike. The sun shines brightly throughout the summer months and although Paihia becomes busy, there always seems to be enough space for everyone to enjoy and relax in.

    City of Sails
Often referred to as the city of sails due to the large number of yatchs clustered around its port, Auckland is often the first place foreigners will get to, on their trip to New Zealand. And you can quickly see why: with its skycrapers and hustle and bustle as you get into the city centre, as well as its multicultural population, you could be fooled into thinking this isn’t Kiwi life at all, but rather some American city. Not so. Once you look past the towering buildings (or rather, look around at street level), you’ll be amazed to hear familiar accents (many Brits move here), rubbing shoulders with the world’s biggest Polynesian population in one city.

    The Outdoors-y City
Queenstown has got to be, without the shadow of a doubt, New Zealand’s adventure capital. This stunning town enjoys a picture perfect setting and is a must, whether you’re planning on settling in here or just on a brief visit. Queenstown is an eclectic mix of loyal locals and enthusiastic seasonal workers. Every year, hundreds of twenty-somethings flood the place looking for work over the summer and winter seasons, which gives the place a really fun, vibrant feel.

New Zealand - home to four million people and 60 million sheep! This diverse country spreads itself across two islands, boasting spectacular, although slightly clichéd, Lord of the Rings landscapes, white sandy beaches, cosmopolitan cities, stunning walks across its valleys and so many sports to choose from, you’ll soon find yourself in a wetsuit, making the most of the crashing waves or skydiving across the island’s peaks. And even if sport isn’t your thang, you’ll be blown over by the world-renowned beer and food.
