Hello YearAbroaders!

After my year abroad, many of my friends asked me to pass a word of advice by making a lists of my favourite things during my year abroad, like cafés and sughts I'd recommend from my destination.

But instead of really long emails, why not share our Top 5 Year Abroad lists here?

So to begin with, 2 of my friends (from Spain) are spending a few months studying in London, so why not start with your London Top 5?

(for other destinations, start other threads please, otherwise it'll ge really confusing)

Top 5 in Florence:

1. Hemingway Chocolate Shop: 70%+ cocoa in their hot chocolates (up to 99% - I kid you not!) and great atmosphere.
2. Bar Badiani slightly outside the centre has the world's best ice cream: Bongo (chocolate profiterole) and Buontalenti (vanilla-y wafery) at non-touristy prices.
3. Pizzeria 00 (zero zero): 3/4/5-person pizzas (round ones) with completely amazing toppings (on one pizza: ricotta and zucchini flower, peperoni and fresh tomato and 3 colour fresh peppers).
4. Museo di San Marco - frescoes by Fra Angelico in the monks' tiny cells, beautiful cloisters, a stunning Last Supper by Ghirlandaio and an amazing insight into the life of Savonarola the mad monk.
5. San Miniato al Monte for a fabulous view over the whole of Florence. This is still an active monastery and you can buy monk-made honey!
