Failing exams 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Has anyone ever failed an exam on Erasmus? I failed a written exam last week and was told the reason was because my Italian wasn't up to scratch and I obviously hadn't understood the lectures. I did understand the lectures and really didn't think my italian was that bad. Has anyone else had similar experiences? What happens if I fail the retakes? Will I just not get the credits?

Hi Gina! It completely depends on your home university and what they'll accept - chat to your course tutor or director of studies, I'm sure they won't mind if you fail one or two exams, especially as no doubt you have separate work to hand in for them anyway. They are very understanding of the pressures students undergo on their year abroad, so explaining the situation is the way forward - you are not the first this has happened to!

Good luck with the resits, and this article 'If it wasn't for those pesky exams' www.thirdyearabroad.com/advice-and-tips/...y-tips/227-exam-help should help you with revision for written papers and orals.

Very best of luck and let us know how you get on. In bocca al lupo!
